What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a form of complementary therapy which aims to promote wellness in other areas of the body.


Modern reflexology is based on the principle that the foot has ‘reflex’ points that correspond to the various structures and organs throughout the body. According to the philosophy of reflexology, all the organs, glands and parts of the body have representing reflexes on the feet. Through the application of pressure on particular areas of the feet, reflexology is said to promote benefits such as the relaxation of tension, improvement of circulation, and support of normalized function in the related area in the body.


The body has the ability to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of “imbalance” and vital body systems can be blocked, preventing the body from functioning optimally. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural balance and facilitate healing. For each person, the application and the effect of the therapy are unique. Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances and by working on these points, the Reflexology Therapist can release these blockages.

Reflexology is one of the safest and least invasive alternative therapeutic practices available.

What happens when I go for a treatment?
A full medical history will be requested on your first treatment, and you will be asked to sign a
consent form for treatment. This information will be kept confidential. The only clothing that
will have to be removed for a treatment to take place will be your socks and shoes.
The therapist will then use their hands to apply pressure to the feet. You may feel areas of
transient discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing.
The therapist may recommend a course of treatments.
